Nikita 2.22 “Crossbow” Review

This episode of the show was titled ‘Crossbow’. Percy had told Nikita last week that she had no idea what he was really up to. She got to find out in this episode that it was not about Division or even Percy but something bigger. She thought he wanted a weapon to push his advantage. She was right about that he wanted something but wrong about the rest.

She was wrong about the weapon; Percy wanted a weapon more dangerous, a relic from the Strategic Defense Initiative, a weaponized satellite that can destroy any target of choice. His reason for wanting this weapon was also off cue. He did not want it for power or Division but as something he’ll be bringing to the table when he takes Division to join an even bigger and more terrifying organization.

Things became bigger than Nikita as her fight against Division took a new turn. And an agent seen as a rogue had to be brought in by the President to deal with the threat of this international organization. This is how Nikita and her team started working secretly with the President.

Now there is a greater incentive to stop Percy and Division. But Division is such an organization that has so much loyalty on the part of its agents that it would be impossible to turn them against it i.e. except for people like Nikita and her crew who were high enough to see the corruption that had taken hold of the organization. But as it stands now, Nikita has a greater chance of taking out Percy and becoming the leader of Division than destroying the organization as a whole.

And this was what she set out to do but fans were left with a cliffhanger ending as it could be that the explosion caught her and she is now in the hands of Percy. While there is doubts if she made it out of Division, Sean and Alex are pinned down at the farm house.

Before all this there was the shock of Birkhoff kissing Nikita -in front of Michael. Michael’s reaction was comical. But things look serious for team Nikita.

The wonderful news is that next week’s episode will not be the series’ finale but the season’s. The show has been renewed for a full twenty-two episode season. It was a close shave for fans who had expected the worst while hoping for the best. And with the way things are playing out with this new international group being mentioned, it looks like Division will soon be consigned to history come season’s finale.

Will any one in team Nikita die? That is a big question. The team is actually bigger -as if they are being prepared for the dangers from overseas come season 3. Fans are zeroing down on Sean but his relationship with Alex had been built through the season. But it would ideal if none of them are killed off. It would be a nice way to mark the renewal.
